There is something about the camel that makes it the victim of light verse. This is Hilaire Belloc:

Charles Doughty’s strange classic of travel writing, Arabia Deserta, which described his difficult travels in north-west Arabia and the Najd in the years 1876–8, was first published in 1888. Doughty was passionate about geology, which he regarded as proof of God’s handiwork in the slow shaping of the world. He also wished to shame the benighted heathen of the Arabian Peninsula by displaying to them the comportment of a Christian gentleman. Above all, he undertook his adventure in order to provide material for an English epic that would revive the lost glories of English prose. However, the camels kept obtruding. Here he describes how baggage camels are unloaded by the tribesmen he was travelling with:
